It's been a long time since I had a blog. The last time was probably in my teens, sharing angsty teen things. Does Facebook even count as a "blog"? I'm going with no.
Why start one now? Good question. To share some thoughts and rants? Therapy? We can decide together!
Today was another day brought to you by the letters "AI". On one hand, I used the token predictor to make a small utility script with a bunch of regexes. It was kinda good and helpful! Could it have just been a few lines of grep/sed/awk? Most likely. But it saved a bit of time.
On the other hand, a colleague proposed tying the LLM work pays for directly into the PR workflow, and have it define it's own .md file(s), so you can chat with it right in the web PR interface and just... Who wants to argue with a bot inside the PR?? Maybe I'm just old man yelling at cloud here but PRs are for humans to review. If you want to use the LLM to help on your work then cool. But when your showing your work to other humans on the team for review, I don't care what the LLM said, this is YOUR work product.
